Welcome to the Concord Energy and Environment Committee! Engaging the Concord community through local action to improve energy efficiency, reduce our carbon footprint, and improve the city’s environmental quality is the mission of the Concord Energy and Environment Committee. The Committee was established by the Concord City Council in April of 2008 upon the recommendation of Concord Mayor Jim Bouley.
Committee members are Concord residents volunteering their time and skills to improve the quality of life in Concord. Initiatives supported by the committee include:
- Energy efficiency projects for public and private properties
- Recycling and composting
- Renewable energy installations
- Alternative transportation planning and events
- Local agriculture and local food sourcing
- Energy workshops
The Committee recommends specific actions and projects to support climate protection strategies endorsed by the US Conference of Mayors and will encourage the participation of youth in energy use and environmental protection projects that benefit the Concord community.
The committee meets monthly on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Concord City Hall and welcomes the participation of the Concord community. We invite all interested Concord residents to volunteer their skills and time to make out city more energy efficient and environmentally conscious.
